The Soul Of Voice
Within each of us is a unique and profound instrument called a Voice.
This instrument gives us an outlet to express ourselves, our truths, and our ideas, which guide our
way through the mystical journey of life. This instrument gives us a potential to connect through
ALL boundaries that seemingly separate us from our true selves and others. This instrument, the
human voice, is a tool that, if used consciously, can lead one to liberation.
Sound, toning, speaking and singing are and have been a universal means of connection and
alignment with ourselves, others, and God throughout the history of humans. The Soul of Voice
workshop is intended to create a space where we can tap into the power of our voices and
remember how to use them with deep intention, openess and purpose.
This workshop has traditionally been a two hour interactive workshop that focuses on providing
some techniques and tools for toning the voice, but mostly encourages individuals to come into
their power by using their own wondrous voice. The workshop is interactive, beginning with a
chance for each person to share their ideas and personal life experiences around speaking/singing
their truth. We then move into learning about and practicing together some technical elements of
scales, toning, and melodies. One of the main influences that we use is an ancient musical scale that
comes from the Eastern World. Next we do some improvisational singing where each person has an
opportunity to create a part of a song that we all sing together. After opening up our hearts and
voices, we complete the workshop by creating a joyful synergy together through singing traditional
and original songs from around the world.
This workshop has been extremely profound for many who have attended. By creating a safe
container and providing tools that people feel comfortable with to open their voices, we awaken an
amazing group and personal energy that I believe liberates us individually and as a planet.

Children, Music, and Peace
Blessings to all the beautiful children of the world. It is my honor to acknowledge the children as the
ones who humbly hold the key to purity and truth. They give us opportunities to learn to live a life
in the light of peace and harmony, acceptance and true love. I believe it is up to us older ones to
consciously provide tools and reflections for the children that teach the ways of true peace.
The “Children, Music and Peace Playshop” is intended to teach and reflect connection, peace, and
harmony through the ancient language of music. It does this by providing a space where children and
adults come together to share about the concepts of peace and love through dialogue, rhythm, song
and rhyme.
In this 1-2 hour workshop, we do warm up voice exercises and opening songs, in the midst of
discussing what peace is and how music can affect peace on the planet. Early in to the playshop, we
set an intention to spread peace to the world during our time together. Through the course of the
playshop, we remember this intention. As the playshop continues we share in singing together. I use
my guitar and my drum to lead traditional children’s folk songs and chants from around the world
that connect with the message of peace. We often times use a variety of percussion instruments that
the children play themselves. I facilitate different rhythms and we become the “One World Peace
Orchestra”. We then discuss the idea of rhythm and how it connects with World Peace. One concept
is that we all play a part (or an instrument) in the whole (the song), and it works beautifully. We end
with a special song that incorporates hand movements, and a closing prayer for peace.
I believe that this playshop can truly bring us together to understand and practice cultivating peace
